Bible Quotes Mar 6th Deuteronomy 6: 6-7

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” - Deuteronomy 6: 6-7

Deuteronomy is one of the Moses written books. This particular reference is from when events at Mt Horeb are recalled and Moses has been given the ten commandments. Moses exhorts his people to remember God, urging obedience.

Children are your future and it is important to let them know what you feel is important. Don’t deprive them of your wisdom. You may want them to make their own decisions. Let those decisions be informed ones. Don’t worry about telling them something which you feel is prejudicial, let them know what you think. Otherwise, they will regret not knowing your mind, and they may resent you making choices for them.

There is nothing more important than walking with God. And it gives a child a tremendous advantage if they are raised with knowledge of God. It is ok to question God’s existence, but know that there are proofs of it too. It is ridiculous to think of sending a child to school and not let them know about standard measures. God provides the standard by which we can measure our achievements in life.
