Bible Quote Jan 1st Isaiah 43:16, 18-19

“This is what the LORD says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:16, 18-19 NIV

Isaiah, reputed to Isaiah Ben Amos of the 8th century, but thought to be more than a few writers, is often called the fifth Gospel. It is lyrical and words of Isaiah are found in the libretto of Handel's Messiah, and expressions such as 'Swords into plough shares' and 'Voice in the wilderness.'

Here, the Lord promises to create a path forward for His people. They don't see it, but it will appear. The excluded verse 17 is a little warlike for the tastes of those putting forth these verses.
"who drew out the chariots and horses,
the army and reinforcements together,
and they lay there, never to rise again,
extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:"
